We watch today’s Black Friday madness envelope our country, just a day after we all sat down and reflected on how grateful we are for all that we (already) have. It’s a strange juxtaposition.
Zoka isn’t participating in Black Friday. Yes, our cafes were open yesterday, but we weren’t selling anything at special prices. We were, as we are every day, providing the service of our coffee, our food and our community space to our patrons.
Today we’re rolling out our “Winter Blend” for the season.
We’re also making our in-store gift cards available. For those of you with friends and family in hailing distance of a Zoka location in the Seattle area, these are a great gifts. If a student happens to be in your orbit (and lots of them come to rest at our cafes for hours, everyday), with finals just a week away, its hard to think of a better gift. You can lighten their financial load, and give yourself the sense that you’re contributing to their academic achievement.
A $25 gift card might help fuel a study group for that end of quarter chem lab.
A $50 gift card might help them refuel the dorm espresso machine with a little carbo loading.
And $100 might just get them through finals and on their way back home for the holidays.
Best of all, they’ll have you to thank for making them just that much smarter.
